Well, it's been a long time and a million things have happened since I last blogged... My life is changing wildly and I can barely keep up with all of the changes but I must. The biggest one is that I am no longer able to be a lady of leisure... I must get out and find a full time job again, which I really am looking forward to doing for a multitude of reasons. Sooo, today I am going to a job fair at William Osler Health Care System's Peel Memorial Hospital in Brampton. They are offering "on the spot" interviews for jobs in the operating room which is my old stomping ground a few years back. The job fair is technically for "new grads" but since I haven't been working for 5 years, I sorta think I could qualify as a new grad and for this neat-o preceptorship (internship) that they are offering there... Here's hoping they might let me have a kick at the proverbial can! All they can do is say "no" or "yes" and I will just get on with the business of job hunting... I never saw myself living in Brampton (or Brambladesh as it is also known) but who knows? Onwards and upwards I say... 

Happy New Year! I'm back from my cruise vacation and I had the time of my life! In this photo, it was just before midnight on the promenade of the ship where there were a thousand people gathered waiting to toast in the new year... I'm not sure how many glasses of champers I'd had by that time... I certainly was having a blast! :) 

Today was the big day! I purchased and put in my little sparkling diamond nose stud and I am soooo pleased with the result! I was a little scared at first to take out the one that they used at the piercing place, but I just grit my teeth and gingerly removed it without any pain or incident... The new one went in without any problems whatsoever and looks wunnerful, wunnerful as good old Mr. Welk would say. I can't stop looking at it in the mirror! 

My friend Jim sent me this pic of a car 'cos he knows that I am cat-crazy... Is this not the coolest car ever? If I was ever to get a car, it would have to be one like this! I am madly in love with this car, I even dreamt about it last night... Who needs a Mustang when you have this little morsel of cat-love? Goddess I love this car... 

I went to the Toronto Motorcycle Show yesterday and "tried on" some different models of Harley Davidsons to see which ones I felt most comfortable with. I sat on a Softail, Lowrider, and my ultimate fave; the Streetbob. However I had a tough time getting those bikes straightened and up off of their kickstands; it was a real struggle for little 'ole me! Sooo, I sat myself on a Sportster 883 "Low" and I had her up, off the stand and perfectly straight in 2 seconds flat. I...was...in...looooove... You can tell by the look on my face that I was hopelessly in love with that pretty, shining example of sex on wheels. Yep, gotta get that Fire Dispatcher job I'm applying for so that I can get me one those.... 

Today I went birding with my friend Bruce from the moped posse. I have never in my life done this activity and it was really nice. We had the perfect day for it; it was sunny and not a cloud was in the sky and despite it being absolutely frigid out, there was very little wind and no snow blowing around. Bruce was very anxious to locate an owl and though we searched high and low, there were none to be found. However we did see, blue jays, junkos, finches, starlings, nuthatches and my personal favourites; chickadees. Bruce also enabled me to have an experience unlike any I had ever experienced before... He placed a few sunflower seeds in my hand and I held it out; with some patience and gentle sh-sh noises some chickadees bravely flew over and alighted on my hand and took the seeds! It was such a moving moment for me, a city dweller, and an urban pagan who despite having an abiding affinity for nature is forcibly tied to the city due to circumstances beyond her control... I almost cried because of the intensity of the connection I had with these tiny creatures when they gripped my fingers with their tiny feet and met my gaze with their sparkling little eyes before taking their treat and flying away... It was so wonderful to be away from all the concrete, steel and glass! Thanks Bruce; you made my soul dance and my heart smile... 

Yep, I'm gonna try it... I've signed up for a "teaser" or introductory class in pole dancing for "fun and fitness"... I paid my $25 and on December 5th I will join 11 other women in a studio and learn the very beginning basics of pole dancing from 2 instructors! If I like what I learn, I might just pony up some more dinero and sign up for Level 1 lessons which commence the first week in January '06 when I return from my cruise. There are 3 levels to complete in order to be completely competent and feel confident and comfortable on and around the pole. The classes are limited to 12 women so that everyone can get good instruction; and each woman gets her very own pole to use. I can hardly wait! WoooHOO!
